23rd May is International Day to End Obstetric fistula – a horrible condition that shouldn’t befall women and girl child. To commemorate the day, Elsie Godwin (@elsieisy) speaks with the founder of Extended Hands Foundation – Stephanie Linus and one of the few Fistula Surgeons In Nigeria and Africa – Dr Sa’aD Idris. They both agree that Education, especially Girl child education remains one of the essential ways to eradicate fistula. Dr Sa’ad also recommends possible ways to help solve the problem of scarcity of fistula surgeon.
