Use LinkedIn, it is not boring. Plenty jobs and opportunities abound there.
Of all the social media platforms, LinkedIn and Google+ rank among the most underused by millennials. LinkedIn especially has been described as boring! On the contrary, it isn’t.
When you think of Business, Corporate Environment, Recruiting and Networking, LinkedIn is home. For young people, looking to have a career, climb the ladder or gain business recognition, you need to have some level of activeness on LinkedIn.
For you this morning, my message is simple; if you are looking for a job, you want to change jobs, or you want to gain some level of recognition for your business and brand, LinkedIn is a place to be.
Here are 4 great ways to gain from Linkedin:
1. You can start getting (genuine) job email alerts. A lot of people have gotten jobs from LinkedIn. You just need to have a well set profile, and see things happen. This profile is like your social media CV and could be the only thing an employer needs to see to decide if you have the job or not.
2. You can connect with (top) professionals in your field and other fields. If there is any social site that can give you an insight into the business profile of top executives and an opportunity to engage them where they are most likely to respond, it is Linkedin. What more? You can even begin to *stalk* or creatively connect with a future employer.
3. With Linkedin, you can get career enhancing recommendations and testimonials. LinkedIn offers a feature through which you can get other people to recommend you for skills you possess. People with a maximum number of recommendations have a great chance of attracting an employers’ attention.
4. You can land international jobs with LinkedIn. Me sef dey target this one, and I am edging closer. Already did a few contract jobs, but I am looking for the one that will take me out of here totally and give me the 5 star life. Lol. Jokes apart, LinkedIn is a global networking platform. If you are interested in landing jobs overseas, you can get a lot of benefits by networking on this social media website. You can connect with all the major international employers and find jobs in foreign countries.
In conclusion, I will like to say it’s about time you created your profiles on LinkedIn and started using this social media platform for connecting with professionals. If you prepare yourself as early as possible, you can easily stay ahead of your competition when it comes to landing a job of your interest, climbing the career ladder or getting recognition for your business.
Decide today.
